The Indian men’s hockey team came up with a disciplined performance to avenge their neighborhood defeat as they defeated Japan 2-1 within the gap match of the Immense 4s stage of the Asia Cup in Jakarta on Saturday. Notably, Japan had hammered the defending champions 5-2 within the neighborhood stage earlier within the tournament but on Saturday, a resurgent Indian facet came out on high.
Birendra Lakra-led Indian facet took the lead within the well-known quarter itself when Manjeet scored a field neutral within the seventh minute of the match. On the opposite hand, Japan equalized early within the 2nd quarter as Niwa Takuma efficiently transformed a penalty corner within the 17th minute.
Pawan Rajbhar restored India’s lead within the third quarter via another field neutral within the 34th minute and the boys in blue managed to toddle down the clock to total with a 2-1 accumulate. Within the opposite Super4s match of the day, Malaysia and Korea performed a 2-2 plan.
