ED has registered an FIR against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the MUDA scam case. After this the political temperature has become high in the state. Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah said that my wife Parvati has returned the plots given as compensation for the land acquired by MUDA (Mysore Urban Development Authority) without any land acquisition. The CM said that the opposition parties have dragged my family into controversy by making false allegations against me as part of political vendetta and the people of the state are aware of this.
After the FIR was registered against CM Siddaramaiah in the MUDA scam case, his wife Parvati had written a letter to MUDA offering to return the 14 plots allotted to her in Vijayanagar, a posh area of Mysore.
Now in this matter, CM Siddaramaiah said that my stance has always been to fight against injustice without bowing down. However, my wife, who is distressed by the political conspiracy going on against me, has decided to call off these plots, which surprises me.

The CM said that in my four decades long political career, my wife, who always remained confined to the family and never interfered, is now mentally distressed due to hate-motivated politics against me, which saddens me. Still, I respect my wife’s decision to return these plots.
BJP demands Siddaramaiah’s resignation
In this matter, BJP has demanded the resignation of Siddaramaiah. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala said that instead of writing a resignation letter, Siddaramaiah is writing a redemption letter. This will not protect them from investigation. Because it has been established that you have committed corruption. If there was no corruption then why are you returning anything? And that too after the order of the High Court, Special Court, after the FIR is registered, after the ED case is started. Now the time has come for resignation, this letter will do nothing. This is a confession of crime, despite so many scams in Karnataka, Congress is doing nothing. Shehzad Poonawala said that Rahul Gandhi should answer what action is going to be taken. Siddaramaiah has no moral right to continue (as CM).
What did Siddaramaiah’s wife say in the letter?
Siddaramaiah’s wife wrote in her letter that I am deeply hurt by the allegations related to the Mudra conspiracy in Mysore. I had never imagined that the plot that my brother Babu received as a family inheritance would create such an uproar. Due to this issue my husband may face false allegations. For me, no house, plot or property is more important than my husband’s respect, dignity and peace of mind. He wrote that after being in power for so many years, I never wanted any personal benefit for myself or my family. These stories make no sense to me. Therefore, I have decided to return the 14 MUDA plots that are at the center of this controversy.
What is the matter?
Mysore Urban Development Authority had taken some land from farmers in the year 1992 to develop it into a residential area. It was alienated from agricultural land as part of the process, but in 1998 a portion of the acquired land was returned to the farmers by MUDA. In this way this land once again became agricultural land. Till now everything was fine. Now the dispute started from the year 2004, during this time BM Mallikarjuna, brother of Siddaramaiah’s wife Parvati, bought 3.16 acres of land in the same land in the year 2004. During this period, in 2004-05, there was a Congress-JDS coalition government in Karnataka and Siddaramaiah was the Deputy CM at that time. During this time, it came to light that this land had once again been separated from agricultural land, but by the time the Siddaramaiah family arrived to take ownership of the land, the layout had already been developed.
