California sees record 12,000 new coronavirus cases, surpasses New York as worst-hit state
California on Wednesday overtook New York, the original epicenter of the US novel coronavirus outbreak, as the worst-hit state for cases, according to a Reuters tally of county data. Total cases in the most populous US state rose by 12,112 on Wednesday to a total of more than 421,000, the biggest single-day increase since the pandemic started. California deaths also set a one-day record, rising by 159.
The total number of Covid-19 samples tested up to 22nd July is 1,50,75,369 including 3,50,823 samples tested yesterday: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
New Covid-19 lockdown guidelines issued for Aluva region in Kerala
In the wake of the increasing cases of coronavirus in the State, the Kerala government has imposed a curfew in Ernakulam’s Aluva region from Wednesday night. The curfew has also been imposed in Aluva Municipality and other six panchayats which fall under the region.
