NEW DELHI: As India grapples with the coronavirus outbreak, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday announced that an “emergency fund” has been constituted as people from all walks of life expressed their desire to donate to the country’s war against COVID-19.
Appealing to fellow Indians, the PM asked citizens to contribute to the ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’, adding that that it will go a long way in creating a “healthier India”.
“Kindly contribute to the PM-CARES Fund. This Fund will also cater to similar distressing situations, if they occur in the times ahead,” Modi said, sharing the details as to how people can donate.
