NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ordered Centre and States to withdraw all police complaints against migrant workers who have been booked for violating lockdown norms while attempting to get back home from their work places.
A bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, M R Shah and V Ramasubramanian also asked Centre/States and UTs to identify migrant workers wanting to go home from a workplaces and arrange for their travel. Process for transporting all remaining migrant workers should be complete in 15 days, it said.
SC said Centre/Railways will provide Shramik Special trains to the states and UTs within 24 hours of receiving requests. Centre
