3 States Progress With Primaries Regardless Of Coronavirus

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP)– Florida, Illinois, Ohio and Arizona are pressing forward with Tuesday’s primary election, although the coronavirus is triggering headaches as ballot locations need to be moved and workers afraid of catching the illness leave.

The governors’ offices in those states said Monday they are not preparing to delay the main regardless of the viral break out. Georgia currently held off next week’s main and Louisiana has postponed its scheduled April 4 main.

In Illinois, there’s no procedure for canceling or delaying the vote, said Matt Dietrich, representative for the State Board of Elections.
