After Surviving COVID-19, This Woman Is Mobilizing Other Survivors To Save Lives

Friday the 13 th now holds a brand-new meaning for Diana Berrent, who got up that day in March with a 102- degree fever and the sensation like an “anvil” was lying on her chest.

” There was nothing subtle about it,” she informed HuffPost last week.

After going to a conference with eight other people in early March, throughout which there was “no physical contact,” she established what she believed were symptoms of COVID-19, the disease caused by the infection.

” It feels like a life time earlier but it was only three weeks ago,” stated Berrent, who resides in Nassau County, New York City. “Schools and services were still open at that point. I had just recently photographed an event at a local grade school in a gymnasium that was loaded with children and their families moving around in close quarters. I was frightened that I had contaminated people along the method without knowing, and I was desperate to get tested. Not since I require to understand for my individual education, however at that point, I felt I had an ethical and civic responsibility to caution my community and I could not report it to the school district unless I had a favorable diagnosis. I was hellbent on getting a test for reporting factors.”

Berrent’s experience attempting to get evaluated was challenging, to say the least.
