Senate Democrats on Tuesday called Republican cops reform legislation “woefully inadequate” and threatened to obstruct argument on the procedure, a relocation that generated partisan sniping from both sides of the aisle amid ongoing across the country demonstrations over cops brutality.
In a letter addressed to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), leading Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer (N.Y.), as well as Sens. Cory Booker(N.J.) and Kamala Harris(Calif.), contacted Republicans to produce a “meaningful” bill targeted at bringing responsibility to law enforcement.
” This bill is not salvageable and we require bipartisan speak to get to a constructive beginning point,” the senators composed.
