Education Union President: ‘I Double-Dog Dare’ Trump To Being In Class Throughout Pandemic

The president of the country’s largest teachers union challenged President Donald Trump to sit in a classroom and “breathe that air,” knocking his push to reopen schools in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.

” There’s no one that desires our kids back more than teachers,” Lily Eskelsen García, president of the National Education Association, informed CNN‘s Alisyn Camerota on Wednesday. “However we wish to open it safely.”

Trump on Tuesday declared some schools were remaining closed during the general public health crisis exclusively to hurt his reelection. He guaranteed to pressure guvs to make them reopen in the fall. On Wednesday, he threatened to cut federal funding for districts disregarding his demand.

In Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and numerous other nations, SCHOOLS ARE OPEN WITH NO ISSUES. The Dems think it would be bad for them politically if U.S. schools open before the November Election, but is very important for the kids & families. May cut off funding if not open!

García noted the early lifting of limitations and reopening of bars, without efficient precaution, most likely contributed to the record numbers of new infections. The virus has now eliminated more than 130,000 people in the U.S.
