The head of the Federal Emergency Situation Management Company on Sunday stated that additional face masks are being delivered from the nationwide stockpile to U.S. healthcare facilities facing shortages due to the coronavirus pandemic. He did not, however, provide information associated to the timeline or variety of masks sent out.
” They’re delivering today.
Host Martha Raddatz asked Gaynor which type of masks were being distributed as well as how many and when, however the emergency supervisor could not say.
” There’s numerous thousands of countless things that we’re shipping from the stockpile,” Gaynor said. “I can’t give you the details about what every state or what each and every single city is doing. I’m telling you that we are delivering from our nationwide stockpile, we’re shipping from suppliers, we’re shipping from donations. It is occurring. The demand is great.”
Raddatz continued to push Gaynor for specifics, asking the number of masks were in the stockpile however he didn’t state.
” There are still products in the stockpile,” Gaynor stated. “We’re prepared to go to no in the stockpile to fulfill demand.”
Asked why all the masks from the stockpile have not been shipped yet and why more weren’t sent out earlier, as health specialists nationwide have been pleading for more supplies, Gaynor stated his focus is on “today.”
