TEHRAN, Iran (AP)– Iran on Sunday validated that a harmed structure at the underground Natanz nuclear website was a brand-new centrifuge assembly center, the main IRNA news agency reported.
Iranian authorities had previously looked for to downplay the fire, which erupted early on Thursday, calling it only an “incident” that affected an “industrial shed.” A launched image and video of the site transmitted by Iranian state tv showed a two-story brick structure with scorch marks and its roof apparently damaged.
A representative for Iran’s nuclear firm, Behrouz Kamalvandi, said Sunday that work had started on the center in 2013 and it was inaugurated in 2018.
