Leading U.S. Health Official: Americans Ought To ‘Hunker Down Considerably More’

Anthony Fauci, among the top U.S. health officials leading the country’s action to the coronavirus, advised Americans on Sunday to “hunker down considerably more” as the infection continues to spread out throughout the country.

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Illness, while making the rounds on Sunday early morning political programs, called on a “dramatic diminution” in individual interactions at dining establishments and bars.

” Whatever it takes to do that, that’s what I ‘d like to see,” Fauci, a medical doctor, said throughout a look on CNN‘s “State of the Union,” adding that elderly and immunocompromised people are not the only people at risk.

” Younger people should be concerned for two factors: You are not immune or safe from getting seriously ill,” he stated. “So secure yourself. Keep in mind: You could also be a vector or a carrier. … That’s why everyone’s got to take this seriously.”
