A United States Army personal is dealing with federal terrorism-related charges after apparently confessing to a plot of work with an extremist neo-Nazi group to assault his own military unit.
Ethan Melzer, a 22- year-old from Kentucky, was jailed by federal agents on charges of conspiring and trying to murder U.S. nationals; conspiring and trying to murder military service members; providing and attempting to offer material assistance to terrorists; and conspiring to murder and impair in a foreign country. Melzer was spoken with in late Might and apprehended on June 10, but the criminal complaint and indictment weren’t unsealed until Monday.
Federal authorities said Melzer dealt with the Order of the Nine Angles, also known as O9A, which they referred to as “an occult-based neo-Nazi and racially determined violent extremist group.”
