NY, NJ And Connecticut Order Visitors From New COVID Hot Spots To Quarantine

New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will need individuals from other states with a high portion of new COVID-19 cases to self-quarantine for 2 weeks upon going into the 3 states, their guvs announced Wednesday.

The travel mandate enters into impact at midnight and affects tourists from states with a “favorable test rate greater than 10 per 100,000 homeowners over a 7-day rolling average or a state with a 10%or higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average,” stated New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) at an afternoon interview.

The states meeting that requirements on Wednesday were: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Utah and Texas. States can be added or eliminated from this list based on their infection rate, Cuomo stated.

All people traveling from states with substantial neighborhood spread of COVID into NY, NJ, or CT needs to quarantine for 14 days.
