Televangelist Pat Robertson concurred that abortion and same-sex marital relationship are partly to blame for the unique coronavirus that has triggered massive social and economic upheaval in the U.S.

The 90- year-old Christian Broadcasting Network creator recommended that God will not end the coronavirus pandemic up until people “turn from their wicked methods.”

Robertson’s remarks came during a segment in which he fields concerns from audiences. On Monday, a viewer asked him about how a popular Bible verse, 2 Chronicles 7: 14, uses to COVID-19, the illness caused by the unique coronavirus. The verse reads, “If my people, who are called by my name, will modest themselves and hope and seek my face and turn from their wicked methods, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The viewer asked: “How can God heal our land and forgive the sins when abortion and same-sex marriage are laws and many individuals are anti-Israel. Does not this prevent his recovery and forgiveness?”

Robertson told the audience, “You are right.”

” I believe you put your finger on something really crucial. You understand the Bible states– they turn from their wicked methods,” he said. ” We are not turning when we have actually done horrible things.”

In his action, Robertson clearly pointed out abortion and abuse of the poor as a few of the reasons “God would hold us guilty.”
