WASHINGTON– Every Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday advised Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), the chairman, to focus hearings on the coronavirus as quickly as the Senate returns next week– and to postpone a verification hearing he is already planning to hold for another one of President Donald Trump‘s judicial nominees.
” Now is not the time to procedure routine judicial nominations,” checks out a new letter to Graham from all 10 committee Democrats “ We therefore prompt you to postpone the Might 6 nominations hearing and rather focus the Committee’s efforts on responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and protecting the lives and livelihoods of all Americans.”
Here’s a copy of the letter, gotten by HuffPost. It is signed by Sens. Dianne Feinstein (Calif.), Patrick Leahy (Vt.), Penis Durbin (Ill.), Sheldon Whitehouse (R.I.), Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), Chris Coons (Del.), Richard Blumenthal (Conn.), Mazie Hirono (Hawaii), Kamala Harris(Calif.) and Cory Booker(N.J.).
The Judiciary Committee has jurisdiction over a number of issues associated with the health and economic fallout from the coronavirus,
