Trump Takes No Questions From Press Amid Nationwide Protests On Cops Violence

President Donald Trump took no questions from reporters Friday after 3 days of escalating across the country demonstrations over cops violence and the death of George Floyd.

At what the White House had actually referred to as a news conference Friday afternoon, Trump checked out a statement in the Rose Garden slamming China and saying the U.S. was “terminating” its relationship with the World Health Organization over its response to the coronavirus. The president made no reference of the protests, nor did he take any questions from journalism.

Later on that afternoon at a roundtable on the coronavirus, Trump resolved the protests for Floyd, a Black man who pleaded “I can’t breathe” as a white policeman knelt on his neck The president expressed “inmost condolences” to Floyd’s household, whom he said he spoke with, and regreted the ” horrible, horrible circumstance.” He also condemned the civil discontent in Minneapolis in reaction to the dayslong hold-up in charging the officer who pinned his knee into Floyd’s neck, stating “we can’t permit” protests ” to become anarchy and chaos” and “looters should not be permitted to muffle the voices of serene protesters.”

Previously Friday, Trump had actually tweeted about the demonstrations in Minneapolis, calling the mostly Black protesters “goons” and threatening them with state-sanctioned violence, including, ” when the looting begins, the shooting begins.”(Twitter applied a “glorifying violence” label to Trump’s tweet for violating its guidelines.)

Trump later on claimed to clarify his tweet, saying “robbery results in shooting,” keeping in mind there was a shooting in Minneapolis on Wednesday and 7 people shot in Louisville Thursday amid protests. H
