University Of Washington First To Close Classrooms In Response To Coronavirus

The University of Washington will hold classes from another location up until completion of March in reaction to a spike in COVID-19 cases in the Seattle area, consisting of one “presumptive positive” case involving a staff member, school officials revealed Friday.

According to an email sent out to all UW trainees, professors and personnel Friday early morning, “classes will no longer meet personally” and faculty and personnel will carry out classes and examinations “remotely, as possible” and “online when feasible” starting Monday till March 20, completion of the winter season quarter. In-person classes are expected to resume on March 30.

School centers will remain open. The school also recommended “social distancing” for trainee groups and events.

” In-person classes certify as occasions, and the sizes of our classrooms do not typically allow for social distancing,” school authorities stated in the e-mail to discuss the shift to remote classes.
