The Venezuelan government has not issued an official response, and no casualties have yet confirmed. The developments come as US President Donald Trump has deployed a navy task force to the Caribbean and openly raised the possibility of ground strikes against Venezuela. A US official confirmed President Trump ordered strikes on sites inside Venezuela, including military facilities, according to CBS News. The strikes follow months of U.S. military buildup in the region, with the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier and numerous other warships positioned in the Caribbean.
