The Washington Post editorial board made a cooling prediction about what would occur if U.S. companies that have been shuttered amidst the coronavirus pandemic were to reopen by Easter, as hoped by President Donald Trump
The newspaper’s board– in a column entitled “ Why ‘selecting’ in between the senior and the economy is a bogus, barbaric option“– warned Friday that “lots of elderly Americans would get ill and pass away in the occurring weeks and months– perhaps numerous thousands, likely millions.”
And “so would many other people,” it included, echoing a point made by Anthony Fauci (the director of the National Institute of Allergic Reaction and Transmittable Diseases) who earlier today cautioned young people are “ not definitely invulnerable” from suffering issues emerging from COVID-19, the illness triggered by the virus.
The board imagined
