White Female Fired From Task After Calling Cops On Black Man In Central Park

Amy Cooper, the white female who called the police officers on a Black man in Central Park over the weekend as seen in a now-viral video, was fired on Tuesday.

Cooper’s employer, Franklin Templeton, revealed on Twitter that it made the decision to end her after carrying out an internal evaluation of the incident in the park, adding, “We do not tolerate bigotry of any kind.”

The asset management company had positioned Cooper on administrative leave late Monday during its investigation.

Previously on Monday, Christian Cooper (no relation to Amy) posted a video on Facebook of Amy Cooper calling the cops on him after he apparently asked her to position her dog on its leash. They remained in a location called the Ramble, where off-leash pets are not allowed

In the video, Amy Cooper threatens to call the polices, saying, “I’m going to inform them there’s an African American male threatening my life” She then puts the call, repeatedly identifying Christian Cooper, who is Black, as an “African American male” and saying he was taping and “threatening” her.
