President Donald Trump and his administration with confidence declared Friday that the U.S. will be able to disperse a full-blown coronavirus vaccine by the end of the year, in spite of many public health professionals approximating it could take a minimum of 12 to 18 months, if not longer.
” Winning matters, and we will deliver by the end of this year a vaccine at scale,” Defense Secretary Mark Esper stated.
Previous pharmaceutical executive Moncef Slaoui and Army Gen. Gustave Perna will lead an effort that is currently limiting vaccine candidates, Trump revealed, adding that the most promising ones will be utilized in a medical trial.
” We are aiming to get it by the end of the year if we can, possibly before,” he said.
