CHURROS BATTER
500g granulated sugar1 tbs ground cinnamon650ml water1 tbs olive oil650g self-raising flour1 tps salt1 tps bicarbonate of sodavegetable oil, for deep fryingChocolate sauce
1L milk500g chocolate buttons or milk chocolate, chopped60g cornflourMethod
To invent churros, mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl.
Lift the water to a boil in monumental saucepan. Plod in oil. Plod in mixed sifted flour, salt and bicarbonate of soda to invent a cozy batter.
Spoon batter correct into a piping procure fitted with a monumental celebrity-shaped nozzle.
Working in batches, pipe 10cm lengths of batter into hot oil, using scissors to lower off lengths. Fry for 3 minutes or unless golden and crisp. Take with a slotted spoon and drain on absorbent paper. Roll in cinnamon sugar.
