A teen in Lancaster, California whose death earlier this month may have been linked to the coronavirus was rejected from an immediate care center because he didn’t have medical insurance. He experienced breathing distress however authorities at the center told him on March 18 to go to a health center. “He did not have insurance coverage, so they did not treat him,” Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris stated in a YouTube video On his method to the healthcare facility, the teen entered into cardiac arrest. When he got to the health center, healthcare employees were able to restore him and keep him alive for 6 hours. Time was of the essence and by the time medical professionals got to him it was too late. “We’ve discovered that once you enter into respiratory issues, you have trouble breathing, you lack breath and you have a fever, that is the time to get medical treatment without hold-up,” Parris stated.
