As Lisa Mora drove south with her caravan towards Victoria in June, she realised the only other caravans on the road were heading in the opposite direction.

“I think I am the only caravaner I know that made that choice, judging by the traffic on the Newell Highway on my way down here,” she said.
“I had the whole southerly road to myself and I saw caravan after caravan after caravan after caravan heading north.”
Now Ms Mora, a full-time grey nomad, is unable to leave Victoria because state borders have closed.
