This healthy recipe fasts to prepare, and makes a simple & filling vegetarian meal.Are Wraps Healthier Than Bread?Wraps aren’t always much healthier than bread, however sometimes it’s just more enjoyable to roll-up your ingredients. If you need a gluten-free wrap choice, these are some of my favorites: Food For Life Wild Rice TortillasSiete Cassava or Almond Flour Tortillas (these are little, so you might want to fill 2) If you do not require a gluten-free wrap, try to find one made with whole wheat. (I like Food for Life’s sprouted whole grain tortillas, when I can discover them.) Entire wheat tortillas tend to be much easier to work with, so only decide for a gluten-free option if that’s what you need.Tip: It’s a little simpler to roll a gluten-free tortilla if you heat it up. I like to set the tortilla on a big dry skillet over medium heat, and let it heat up for about 45-60 seconds on both sides. It has a little bit more bend to it, without breaking.Veggie Wrap FillingsThe secret to a good vegetable wrap is what you put inside, so let’s talk about that. First, you’ll need an actually tasty spread. It helps blend all of the fillings together!Here are my favorite spreads & sauces: Vegan Sriracha Mayo (hands-down my favorite) Hummus (use homemade or store-bought) Zucchini Hummus (if you prefer to avoid beans) Bean DipChimichurri SauceVegan Special SauceHoney Balsamic DressingNext, you’ll select your vegetable fillings.
