NIA official says the firm is pursuing leads with other security firms

A doctor from Kerala might have been amongst the Islamic State (IS) terrorists who stormed a jail in Eastern Afghanistan’s Jalalabad on Sunday.

The suspect was identified as Ijas Kallukettiya Purayil (37), a physician from Kasargod in Kerala. A National Examination Company (NIA) official said on Tuesday that the company had no confirmation up until now about his involvement in the prison attack, however it was pursuing the leads with other security agencies.

Ijas’s photograph, together with those of 10 others, was released by the propaganda wing of the ISKP on different social networks accounts on Tuesday. A minimum of 2 more Indians are stated to have actually belonged to the group that detonated cars and truck bombs
