By India Today Web Desk: A couple was hacked to death by unknown scalawags on suspicion of “practicing witchcraft” in Odisha’s Keonjhar district. Their child discovered their bodies in a swimming pool of blood outside their home in Rasool Jhumukipatiya Sahi town.
The event happened on Saturday when Bahada Murmu (45) and his partner Dhani (35) were sleeping outside their home after having their supper. Some scalawags supposedly entered their home around midnight and struck the couple on their heads with sharp weapons. Later on, they got away from the area, leaving the couple bleeding a lot.

Their child heard them shrieking and hurried outside to discover her moms and dads in a swimming pool of blood. She instantly notified her uncle about the occurrence. The relative stated Bahada’s child called at around 12: 30 am to notify him about the event. “I took my motorbike and reached the area and saw my sibling still breathing, while their child was weeping near the body of her dad,” stated Kisan Marandi.
A cops group came to the area and sent out the bodies for an autopsy.
Keonjhar Superintendent of Police Mitrabhanu Mahapatra informed PTI, “It appears that suspicion of practicing witchcraft lagged the murders.”
One individual has actually been apprehended in connection with the case. Additional examination is underway.
