A sad news has come out from Nepal. Seven Indian pilgrims were killed and several others injured in a tragic road accident in Gorkha district. This accident happened when the devotees were returning after visiting Mankamana temple. A microbus carrying them lost control near Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-3 area of Gorkha district and fell into a slope about 200 meters below the road. All those killed were residents of Tamil Nadu. Preparations have been started to bring his dead body to India.
Gorkha District Police Office Superintendent of Police Bharat Bahadur BK said that a total of 14 people were traveling in the microbus, out of which seven died on the spot. The deceased include five men and two women and all are said to be Indian citizens. Seven other passengers have been seriously injured in this accident, who have been admitted to the College of Medical Sciences, Bharatpur, Chitwan for treatment.
Hospital’s Deputy Director Sudeep Raj KC has said that nine injured were brought to the hospital after the accident, out of which the condition of five is critical. Three seriously injured people have been kept in the Neurosurgery ICU and two in the Surgery ICU. Except the driver and co-driver, all the passengers in the microbus were Indian citizens.

Santosh Gurung, an employee present in the vehicle, said that the devotees were returning after offering prayers at the Mankamana temple and the driver had also complained about brake failure on the way. After the accident, the team of Nepal Armed Police Force and Gorkha District Police immediately reached the spot and started relief work.
Police have sent the bodies of the deceased to the hospital for post-mortem and a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident is underway. This tragic accident has left the families of the Indian pilgrims and the local people in mourning.
Preparations to bring bodies of 7 pilgrims to India
The process of bringing back the bodies of seven pilgrims from Tamil Nadu who died in the bus accident in Nepal has been started. Tamil Nadu government said that after post-mortem, the bodies will be brought to Chennai airport and then taken to their home towns.
