Allow opt-out scheme till last paper: SC tells ICAI
Chartered accountancy aspirants taking tests in July-August should have the alternative to alter test centres “till the very end,” Supreme Court informed the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) on Monday. The Court stated that this is taking into account the developing COVID situation.
” The COVID situation is continuously altering and not static. The location where a test centre is can, in coming days, belong to a containment zone,” the pinnacle court stated.
It added that if a CA student has appeared in one paper and is unable to take the other topics, it will be deemed that he has pulled out, which he will get advantages of the opt-out plan.
” The opt-out scheme is available till the last paper. If a candidate’s family member is checked favorable throughout the examination, you can not require him to appear in the remaining paper,” the SC stated.
In addition to this, the Supreme Court likewise asked the ICAI to:
– Extend the date enabling students to change test centres due to COVID
– Enable trainees to intimate ICAI via email, and opt-out in the middle of exams due to COVID factors.
– Advised ICAI to follow MHA safety procedure for examinations
