After Patna over BPSC agitation, Delhi also erupted, JNU students raised slogans of ‘Nitish Kumar Murdabad’

Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) on Monday demonstrated outside the Janata Dal (United) office here demanding the resignation of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and cancellation of Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) examination. Students raised slogans against Nitish Kumar outside the office.

After Patna, now there is an uproar in Delhi also regarding the alleged question paper leak of Bihar Public Service Commission. The student union of Delhi’s Jawaharlal Nehru University has come out in support of the BPSC candidates. After the lathicharge on students in Patna, JNU students surrounded the JDU office at Jantar Mantar in Delhi and raised slogans against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Lathi charge in Patna, chaos in Delhi

JNU students, angry over the alleged irregularities in the BPSC 70th preliminary examination and the CM’s silence on the agitation, have raised slogans of Nitish Kumar Murdabad outside the Janata Dal (United) office and demanded his resignation. JNU students say that papers of various examinations are being leaked all over the country including Bihar and instead of making a law on paper leaks, this government is lathi charging the students by using water cannon in the extreme cold.

BPSC candidates’ agitation continues

Competitive students have been protesting in Patna for several days demanding the cancellation of the 70th preliminary examination of Bihar Public Service Commission. On Sunday, Patna Police used batons on students marching to meet Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Meanwhile, a delegation of BPSC candidates met Bihar Chief Secretary Amritlal Meena on Monday and put forth their demands. The Chief Secretary has assured to consider these demands.

After talking to the delegation of BPSC candidates, the CS office issued a statement saying, ‘An 11-member delegation of candidates met the Chief Secretary and submitted a demand letter regarding the 70th Bihar Public Service Commission examination. In this, there has been a demand to cancel the entire preliminary examination, conduct a high-level inquiry into the irregularities in the examination, withdraw the cases registered against the candidates, take action against the personnel involved in using excessive force on the candidates and give compensation to the family of late Sonu Kumar. ‘

What did the Chief Secretary say?

The Chief Secretary’s office said in its statement, ‘In order to submit the demand letters of the BPSC candidates, issues have been submitted in relation to some other examination centers apart from Bapu Examination Centre. After discussing all the points in depth, the delegation was assured that legal action would be taken on the demand letter submitted by them. The candidates have also been suggested to maintain peace.
