Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said on the issue of caste census that I think caste census should be done once. It should be done along with the general census because it will let us know the exact population of tribals, SC, OBC, minorities and other sections of the society. It should be done because every section demands policies (reservation) for itself, so getting accurate data will also help the government while making policies.

Along with this, Ajit Pawar advocated an all-party meeting to discuss the issue of Maratha reservation. Ajit Pawar said that opposition parties cannot be ignored because they also represent the people. He said that Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange wants quota for the OBC category, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had called an all-party meeting to discuss the quota issue, but the opposition kept distance from the meeting. Ajit Pawar said that I do not know whether the boycott was intentional or not. It has been decided to ask them (opposition) for time again.

According to PTI, while praising the Ladki Behan Yojana, Ajit Pawar said that the scheme will be launched on August 17 in Balewadi, CM Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis will attend this program. Under this scheme, women will get assistance of Rs 1,500 per month if the annual family income is less than Rs 2.5 lakh.

At the same time, an important meeting of NCP leaders was held at Jijai Bungalow late night at the residence of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar in Pune. Along with Ajit Pawar, senior leaders Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, Chhagan Bhujbal, Nawab Malik and Shivaji Garje were present in it. 2 Rajya Sabha seats and 4 MLC seats from Maharashtra were discussed in the meeting. Also, the distribution of seats for the assembly elections will also be discussed tonight.
