Arvind Sawant apologizes for calling Shaina NC ‘imported goods’

Shiv Sena UBT’s Arvind Sawant, who was in trouble for calling Shiv Sena Shinde’s candidate from Mumba Devi seat Shaina NC as ‘imported goods’, has apologized for his statement. He has said that my statement was distorted while I have never insulted women in my 55 years of political career.

In his statement, Arvind Sawant said, ‘If my statement has hurt anyone, I apologize and give full respect. Surpanaka, Revanna Reddy, Manipur incident.. What was the rhetoric regarding all this? , What did Ashish Shelar say about Kishori Pednekar? Rame Kasam’s statement, what did Abdul Sattar say about Supriya Sule? Were FIRs registered in all incidents? I demand that FIR should be registered in all such incidents.

Arvind Sawant said, ‘This was done only to take political advantage. I had no such intention, I did not even take my name. Once again I want to say that if my statements have hurt anyone, I apologize.

What did Arvind Sawant say?
When Shaina NC was made the candidate of Mahayuti, Arvind Sawant had said that look at her condition…she remained in BJP all her life. Got the ticket from Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena. Imported will not work here. We sell original goods here. Amin Patel is the original candidate.

FIR was registered

After this statement, Shaina NC had lodged an FIR against Arvind Sawant at Nagpada Police Station. Expressing displeasure over Sawant’s statement, Shaina said, ‘He cannot respect a woman. A capable woman who is a professional and comes into politics. Do you use such words for them? We all worked for you under the leadership of Modiji in 2014 and 2019. That’s why you are in this situation. Now you are in trouble because you called a woman ‘Maal’.
