Hindu temple has been attacked for the third time within 15 days in Australia. Khalistan supporters are continuously targeting Hindu temples in Melbourne. Earlier on January 17, the BAPS Swaminarayan temple was attacked in Melbourne itself.
A Hindu temple has been vandalized in Melbourne’s Albert Park. Slogans in support of Khalistan are written on the walls of the temple. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Temple, also known as the Hare Krishna Temple, is a well-known center of the Bhakti Yoga movement in Melbourne. On Monday morning, the temple management found that the temple was vandalized and slogans like “Khalistan Zindabad”, “Hindustan Murdabad” were also written on the walls.
ISKCON temple communications director Bhakta Das told Australia Today that we are shocked and angered by this blatant disregard for the respect of the place of worship. Shivesh Pandey, an IT consultant and devotee of the ISKCON temple, said that in the last two weeks, the Victoria Police has failed to take any decisive action against those who are running their hate agenda against the peaceful Hindu community.

The attack on the ISKCON temple came just two days after an emergency meeting of Victorian multifaith leaders with the Multicultural Commission, following which a statement of condemnation was issued against the incitement of Hindu hatred by Khalistan supporters.
Bhindranwale was written martyr on the temple
Earlier, in the attack on January 17, Khalistan supporters had written on the walls of the temple praising Indian terrorist Bhindranwale as a ‘martyr’ responsible for killing more than 20 thousand Hindus and Sikhs. Makrand Bhagwat, Victoria state president of the Hindu Council of Australia, had said, “Any form of hatred and vandalism against places of worship is not acceptable and we condemn it.”
