‘Bangladesh is going to prove to be the next Pakistan’, Exclusive interview of Sheikh Hasina’s son

The government has fallen in Bangladesh. After the coup, Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and has come to India. Amidst the fierce violence and arson in the neighboring country, Indian security agencies have facilitated Sheikh Hasina’s entry into India. She is currently in the safe house of Hindon Airbase. Meanwhile, Sajeeb Wazed, son of former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, has given an exclusive interview to Aaj Tak. In this conversation, he has expressed concern about the future of Bangladesh.

Defending his mother Sheikh Hasina, Sajeeb Wazed said, ‘My mother ran the best government in Bangladesh. She did nothing wrong. She fought terrorism strongly. But now she is 77 years old. She has done what she had to do for Bangladesh. Now she will spend time with her grandchildren in different countries of the world. She is very disappointed and frustrated after seeing the current situation in Bangladesh.’

Did Haseena seek asylum in London?

On the question of Sheikh Hasina seeking asylum in Britain, Sajeeb Wazed said, ‘The reports coming from London are wrong. She has not sought asylum from anyone yet. We have been close allies of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.’ Talking about the minorities of Bangladesh, Sajeeb Wazed said that now the temples of minorities are being attacked there.

‘The entire role is of Jamaat-e-Islami’

Sajeeb Wazed further said, ‘It was necessary to use force to stop the protests in Bangladesh. But my mother had decided that she would not use security forces against the students. So she thought it better to resign instead of using force on the students. Jamaat-e-Islami has a role in this entire incident. They are extremists. The common man of Bangladesh is not involved in this at all.’

Party workers are being targeted

Speaking on the ongoing violence in Bangladesh, Sajeeb Wazed said, ‘Extremists are targeting our party workers. In 1975 also our party leaders were killed. We do not want such a situation to arise again. We will definitely protect our leaders. But the future of Bangladesh is no longer our responsibility.’

What will be the fate of Bangladesh?

What could be the future of Bangladesh? Talking on this issue, Sajeeb said, ‘We somehow convinced Sheikh Hasina to leave Bangladesh. Bangladesh will now become the next Pakistan. This is its fate. We will not criticize the army at all.’

Is China also the reason behind the violence?

Talking about China, Sajeeb Wazed said that China never interfered. It is not involved in this. We have friendly relations with China. Giving a message to the people of Bangladesh, Sajeeb Wazed said that a lot of efforts were made to save Bangladesh. But now Sheikh Hasina will not come to save the people of Bangladesh.
