A big upheaval has been seen in the politics of West Bengal. There is an atmosphere of celebration in the BJP camp just before the upcoming assembly elections in the state, while the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) has faced a shameful and crushing defeat in its own stronghold.
BJP has done this upset in the elections of ‘Calcutta High Court Club’, one of the most prestigious institutions of the state. Here the lawyers have expressed confidence in the BJP panel, giving a blow to Mamata Banerjee’s party.
This victory is being seen as a ‘good thing’ for BJP and a ‘danger ahead’ for TMC, because in a way this upset is being considered as the decision of the educated class. Political experts are looking at this beyond the lawyers’ decision.
