After the fourth T20 International match to be played between India and South Africa in Lucknow on Wednesday was canceled due to fog, the fans got angry and demanded the BCCI to refund the ticket money. Ekana Stadium was packed, where a large number of spectators had come in anticipation of a tough match between the Indian team and the Proteas.
Lucknow has been a successful ground for India so far, where Team India has won all three of its matches. In such a situation, the Indian team led by Suryakumar Yadav was considered to have the lead in this match. If the host team won, the series would have gone to India, but fog spoiled the game throughout the day and even the toss could not take place.

How did the situation worsen due to fog?
The time of the match was fixed at 7 pm, while the toss was to take place at 6:30 pm. However, even before that, dense fog covered the Ekana Stadium and the situation continued to worsen. The umpires did the first inspection at 6:30 and decided to take stock of the situation again after half an hour.

Inspections conducted at 7:30 pm and again at 8 pm also showed no improvement. During this time, the effect of dew also started appearing on the field. Moisture was seen in the wheels of the boundary rover and the ground staff had to put a thick cover on it to protect the pitch.
After this, three more inspections were conducted, but no positive results were obtained. Ultimately it was decided to cancel the match. After the cancellation of the match, BCCI was once again severely criticized regarding the scheduling. Now the last match of this series will be played on 19th December in Ahmedabad.
