Indigo flight 6E2142 going from Delhi to Srinagar caused chaos when the aircraft faced a horrific weather in the air. As soon as the flight reached Srinagar, the flight faced heavy hailstorm and turbulance, causing the front part of the aircraft- ‘Noj con’ badly damaged.
Pilot gave emergency information to ATC
As soon as the weather and situation worsened, the pilot informed the Srinagar Air Traffic Control (ATC) about the emergency. However, with the understanding of the pilot and crew, the aircraft was taken off at the safe Srinagar airport at 6:30 pm.

IndiGo also issued an official statement on the incident stating that the flight and cabin crew followed the prescribed rules and the aircraft was safely taken away. The team of Srinagar Airport took full care of the convenience of the passengers. Now only after checking and repairing the aircraft, it will be again approved for flight.

The weather suddenly turned suddenly due to heavy rains and hailstorm in Delhi-NCR late Wednesday evening. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), these changes occurred due to cyclonic circulation built around Haryana, which is active in an East-West trough from Punjab to Bangladesh. Due to this weather change, many domestic and international flights had to be canceled or diverted their route at IGI Airport in Delhi.
