A sensational case of kidnapping of a businessman for ransom of Rs 50 lakh has come to light in Rahatni, Pune, Maharashtra. However, the Anti-Goonda Squad and Anti-Khandani Squad of Pimpri-Chinchwad Police took action and rescued the kidnapped person safely. Six accused have been arrested in this case. Police have seized a total of about Rs 18 lakh from the accused, including two pistols, six live cartridges, five mobile phones, a watch worth Rs 7 lakh and the Swift car used in the kidnapping.
Kidnapping in film style
In this case the brother of the complainant is a businessman. He was forcibly kidnapped in a filmy style by five unknown accused in a black Swift car. This entire incident was captured in CCTV camera. After the kidnapping, the accused called the complainant and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. Besides, a threat was also given to kill the kidnapped businessman if he did not pay the amount.

Kidnapping seen in CCTV footage
After this incident the complainant lodged a complaint at Kalewadi police station. On the basis of this, a case of kidnapping was registered. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the police has immediately started investigation. During the investigation, nearby CCTV footage was examined and efforts were made to trace the accused on the basis of technical analysis of mobile phones.
Called and demanded ransom
CCTV footage and technical analysis revealed that the accused were taking the kidnapped person towards Madhya Pradesh in a black Swift car. Meanwhile, the accused were repeatedly calling the brother of the kidnapped person and demanding money for ransom.
Police laid a trap and caught him
Giving impetus to the investigation, anti-Khandani squad and anti-goonda squad of Pimpri-Chinchwad police laid a trap at Sangamner toll post with the help of Sangamner police. The police chased the accused and caught them in a filmy style and exposed the entire kidnapping conspiracy.
In this action, Chandrashekhar Deepchand Gaur, Dilip Mohanlal Saroj, Rinku Alguram Saroj, Anil Girdharilal Saroj, Mukesh Kumar Rammurat Chamar and Santan Suresh Chavan have been arrested. Meanwhile, the accused had released the kidnapped person in Chandanapuri Ghat area of Sangamner. After this, the anti-goonda Pathak captured him and freed him safely.
The accused’s maternal uncle works at a businessman’s house.
Investigation has revealed that the main accused in this kidnapping conspiracy is Santan Suresh Chavan. It is being told that Santan Chavan’s maternal uncle used to work with the kidnapped businessman. However, at present the police investigation has not revealed any role of his maternal uncle in this case. Police are investigating this matter further.
