An example of humanity came to light from Majhauliya village in Darbhanga district of Bihar, which made the entire area emotional. Usually, when humans are in trouble, people come forward to help, but this time the villagers proved that humanity is not just for humans by saving the life of a domestic cat. The most special thing about this incident was that the cat was confined inside a closed house in the village for the last three months and the villagers were continuously arranging for its food and water.
According to local people, this cat got trapped in Saroj Jha’s house, which was locked before Durga Puja. Saroj Jha is originally from this village, but lives in Kolkata with his family and comes to the village only during festivals or special occasions. The cat was not able to come out because his house was locked. The villagers tried several times, but she could neither get out through the window grill nor make a way from any other place.

The cat was living its life in a closed house with biscuits and water.
When the villagers saw the cat in the closed house for the first time, they immediately informed the landlord Saroj Jha on phone. However, Jha could not come to the village due to some reason. In such a situation, the villagers themselves took the responsibility of the cat. People started pouring biscuits and water for him every morning and evening from places like the window of a closed house. The cat was passing her days by eating only biscuits and drinking water.
Gradually three months passed and helping the villagers for the cat had become his daily routine. Villagers say that the cat would sometimes come near the window and sometimes reach the grill at the back of the house, but every time it would fail and return inside. The people of the village saw his helplessness and repeatedly wondered when this captivity would end.
Another cat entered at night, their calls shook the village
The incident took a turn when one night suddenly another cat also entered the same closed house. Now two cats were imprisoned inside the house. The other cat created a ruckus the whole night and kept crying loudly. People nearby got worried after hearing the painful sounds coming from the house.
Hearing the pitiful cries of the two cats, the hearts of the villagers ached. Many people said that crying of a cat like this is not a good sign, hence it was necessary to take them out at any cost. People once again immediately contacted landlord Saroj Chaudhary and asked for permission to break the lock. This time he agreed to the villagers and said that if necessary, they should break the lock.
The lock was broken after the owner’s consent, both cats were free.
The villagers decided in the night itself that the next morning they would break the lock and take out both the cats. Roshan Mishra, who was taking care of this cat from the beginning, said that the cat was in a closed house for three months and everyone was worried seeing its condition. As soon as the owner’s permission was received, the villagers broke the lock of the house and freed the two cats trapped inside. As soon as the door of the house opened, both the cats quickly came out and ran into the open air.

Village woman Ramkumari Devi told that the cat had entered the house before Durga Puja and could not come out for months. Only the villagers used to give him food and the sound of his crying made the surroundings sad. When the second cat also entered the house and their voices became louder, then everyone together decided that it was necessary to free them. Ultimately both of them were taken out safely by breaking the lock.
