Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Gorakhpur on a three-day visit on Saturday, where Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat is attending a camp of volunteers. There is a lot of speculation about a meeting between Bhagwat and Adityanath in view of the setbacks the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) suffered in the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh.
The meeting of the two leaders was scheduled for Saturday, which was postponed twice to the afternoon and then to the evening. But the two could not meet till late night. Later, RSS sources said that no fixed meeting has been announced. Bhagwat, who reached Gorakhpur on Wednesday to participate in the ‘Karyakarta Shivir’, is staying in the RSS camp and will stay here till Sunday.

The RSS chief held an intellectual meeting with the workers on Thursday in the worker development class being held at SMV Public School since June 3. He reminded the volunteers of their efficiency and gave them the mantra of becoming useful for the Sangh. He asked the senior volunteers of the Sangh to worry about the expansion of the Sangh, ‘Work with your full potential to connect people with the Sangh. Not only reach the streets and neighborhoods of the city, but also ensure your reach to every village.’
Yogi is also in Gorakhpur
On Saturday, the Chief Minister also released Asiatic lion ‘Bharat’ and lioness ‘Gauri’ in their enclosure at Shaheed Ashfaqullah Khan Prani Udyaan (Gorakhpur Zoo) and also held a meeting with officials. The RSS on Friday dismissed reports of its differences with the BJP.

The union rejected the allegations
The Sangh also denied that Sarsanghchalak Bhagwat’s critical comments on the Lok Sabha election results were aimed at the ruling party. RSS sources said, “There is no rift between the RSS and the BJP.”
Bhagwat had addressed a gathering of RSS trainees at the concluding programme of the organisation’s ‘Karyakarta Vikas Varg-II’ in Nagpur on Monday, where he expressed concern over the situation in Manipur. Opposition leaders had claimed that Bhagwat’s remarks, which included “a true servant is never arrogant”, were a message to the BJP leadership after the party’s poor performance in the elections.
