The most important target of this operation was Bellya airbase located in the Irqutsk region of Russia, which is 4,300 km from the war zone. TU-22M supersonic bombers are deployed here, which have been used continuously in missile attacks on Ukraine’s infrastructure. The video available is seen burning many bombers, including TU-95. The special feature of this attack is that it was done at the locations far away from the reach of normal drones or missiles. This means that Ukrainian drones were already secretly deployed within Russia.

Which airbase was targeted?

Russia has also confirmed this attack. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that Ukraine carried out drone attacks on military airports in Murmansk, Irqutsk, Ivanovo, Riazan and Amur regions. According to the ministry, the drone was thwarted at most places, but some aircraft were burnt due to the FPV drones launched near Murmansk and Irqutsk. It took one and a half year time in planning

According to reports, it took one and a half years to make the operation plan. To carry out this, Ukraine used the first-Person-View (FPV) drone, which was hidden in wooden mobile cabins made in trucks and sent inside Russia. The report said, “When the right time came, the roofs of his cabins were opened from the remote and the drones flew directly to target the Russian bombers aircraft.”

Big attack in less money

The Ukrainian attack is considered to be a major impact in low cost. The FPV drone costs a few hundred dollars, while the total price of 41 heavy bombers aircraft is being estimated at billions of dollars.
