After the Rajasthan High Court bought status quo to be kept in the disqualification proceedings versus rebel leader Sachin Pilot and dissident MLAs, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot together with his supporting legislators staged a “dharna” on the lawns of Raj Bhawan here on Friday with the demand for the Guv’s approval for convening a session of the State Assembly.
“ We want an Assembly session from Monday The [State] Cabinet has taken a choice on this,” Mr. Gehlot informed reporters outside the Raj Bhawan, while implicating Guv Kalraj Mishra of not providing the consent “under some pressure from above”. He said he wanted to go to the flooring of your home and prove his bulk.

Unmatched scenes of the MLAs raising mottos supporting Mr. Gehlot and requiring the Assembly session be held were seen in Raj Bhawan after members of the Gehlot camp showed up in 4 buses from a high-end hotel in the borders of the city, where they had actually been sequestered for a number of days. The legislators raised the mottos: “Call a session now” and “We want justice”.
The dharna ended after about 5 hours with a decision taken for holding a Cabinet conference late in the night. Health Minister Raghu Sharma said a list of 102 MLAs was sent to the Governor with the claim of a clear bulk in the 200- member Assembly and with the plea that a floor test in the House was even suggested throughout the current court hearings on the Speaker’s disqualification notices.
