NEW DELHI: A day after two fresh cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in India, the health ministry on Tuesday said six cases with “high-viral load” were detected during sample testing in Agra and these people have been kept in isolation.

87 Iran returnees under watch in Gujarat
The Gujarat government has decided to open isolation ward in each of the 33 districts for treatment of any suspected novel coronavirus case, while 87 people, who recently returned from the virus-hit Iran, have been kept under observation, said officials on Tuesday.
“As a precautionary measure, these 87 persons were kept under observation at their respective homes in different parts of the state,” the state government said.
Iran-returned Army officer quarantined in MP
An Army officer was admitted to the isolation ward of a military hospital at Mhow in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday for suspected exposure to the coronavirus after returning from Iran, a health official said.
The 32-year-old officer returned on February 25 from Tehran, Iran’s capital, and was admitted to hospital after he complained of sore throat, said Dr Santosh Sisodia, district in-charge of Integrated Disease Surveillance Program.
“His condition is fine. He has been kept under medical observation in an isolation ward. His blood and swab samples are being sent to the National Institute of Virology in Pune for testing,” Sisodia added.
Navy postpones ‘Milan 2020’ naval exercise
The Indian Navy on Tuesday postponed a multi-nation mega naval exercise ‘Milan 2020’ which was scheduled to be held off the coast of Visakhapatnam as part of precautionary measures against coronavirus infection.
The Milan naval exercise was scheduled to be held from March 18-28 and over 40 countries were expected to participate in the exercise.
The exercise has been postponed taking into consideration the “safety of all participants and travel restrictions imposed due to the spread of COVID-19”, officials said.
Indian U-16 football team’s tour to Tajikistan cancelled
The Indian U-16 national football team’s tour to Tajikistan has been cancelled due to coronavirus outbreak.
The Indian U-16 boys, currently the U-15 SAFF Champions, were scheduled to depart to play two friendlies against Tajikistan U-16 National Team on March 5.
The India Senior National Team is also slated to go to Tajikistan on March 31 to play against them. National team Director Abhishek Yadav said they are keeping a close tab on the situation.
21 Italian tourists, 3 Indians sent to ITBP quarantine centre
Twenty-one Italian tourists and three Indian tour operators have been sent to an ITBP quarantine facility in Delhi for suspected coronavirus exposure, official sources said.
Health ministry sources said these foreigners, 13 women and eight men, were in the same group of which an Italian and his wife have tested positive in Rajasthan capital Jaipur.
