NEW DELHI: More than 500 coronavirus cases were registered in India on Sunday for the fourth consecutive day even as the government announced a massive ramp up of its testing facilities. The number of deaths in the country also rose to 109 with 30 casualties in the last 24 hours.

693 new coronavirus cases reported since Sunday
The Union health ministry on Monday said that 693 new COVID-19 cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total number to 4067 in India, of which 1445 cases are related to the Jablighi Jamaat.
The number of coronavirus deaths stands at 109, with 30 people succumbing to it yesterday.
President, PM, MPs to take a pay cut
The Union Cabinet on Monday approved an ordinance to reduce the salaries, allowances and pensions of Members of Parliament by 30 per cent for one year and the amount will be utilised in the fight against coronavirus.
The President, Vice President, governors of states have also voluntarily decided to take a pay cut as a social responsibility, Union minister Prakash Javadekar said.
