The Centre on Sunday extended the nationwide lockdown till May 31, the third such extension, to curb the spread of Covid-19 in India. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that lockdown 4.0 will be different from the previous lockdowns with a new set of rules. “This is a challenge which will have to be met by state authorities by strict enforcement of environmental norms and rules and regulations governing pollution. We must look at the quantum improvement in things like waste management, industrial discharge, river quality and emission levels,” Javadekar said.
A special train carrying 558 passengers, including 292 Tablighi Jamaat delegates and 266 others from Delhi reached Trichy railway junction this morning.
All the Jamaat delegates have been quarantined at Jamal Mohammed college in Trichy. The others have been sent to their districts across the state by TNSTC buses.
