The list of positive coronavirus cases as confirmed by the Union Health Ministry stood at 84 on March 14, with two deaths reported so far from Delhi and Karnataka. Data from States, however, put the number of confirmed cases at 102.

Saturday witnessed the largest number of 12 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases reported in Maharashtra on a single day, taking the number of patients to 31.

218 Indians evacuated from Italy sent to ITBP quarantine

A total of 218 Indians, mostly students, brought here from Italy on Sunday have been taken to an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) quarantine facility in south-west Delhi’s Chhawla area, officials said.

The Air India flight from Milan landed around 9.45 a.m. at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA).

Uttarakhand government shuts schools, colleges and cinema halls

The Uttarakhand government has declared COVID-19 an epidemic and shut all multiplexes, cinema halls, degree colleges and technical institutes across the state till March 31, official sources said.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the State council of ministers on Saturday night.

However, medical colleges will remain open, they said.

All 289 Dubai-bound passengers offloaded at Kochi airport after UK national tests positive

At least 289 passengers of a Dubai-bound flight were offloaded at the airport here on Sunday shortly before takeoff after a UK national among them tested positive for novel coronavirus, official sources said here.

The passenger belonged to a group of 19 holidaying in the hill resort town of Munnar in Kerala and was under surveillance, a Cochin International Airport Limited spokesman said.
