NEW DELHI: India remains in stage II of the Covid-19 outbreak – where disease transmission is limited to those with travel history to the affected nations and others in contact with the contaminated individuals – and federal government’s efforts are geared towards halting or a minimum of postponing the development to the next stage, Indian Council of Medical Research director-general Balram Bhargava said.
The progression to the next phase might eventually take place but by delaying it India is making itself much better prepared to localise and contain the circumstance, Dr Bhargava stated. “India has around a 30- day window to stop the start of neighborhood transmission of Covid-19 cases.
