NEW DELHI: As the 21-day lockdown entered its second day in India in an attempt to slow down the spread of coronavirus, some people complained of facing inconvenience in getting the essentials saying there was not enough supply of food and vegetables at the local shops while others were satisfied with the availability of essentials.
Here is the ground report from different cities:
- Delhi: The Delhi government will allow shops selling essential items to operate round the clock so that there is no rush of people and essential supply of food is not disrupted. More street vendors were allowed on the streets and number of shops with replenished stocks has improved.
- Lucknow: Residents of some areas were partly affected by short supply of food products and vegetables at grocery stores. The citizens alleged that there’s a huge confusion over home delivery of essentials as the helplines of Bigbasket, Grofers and Big Bazaar are not working.
