NEW DELHI: The impact of 21-day lockdown is starting to become visible after several areas in the country reported a dip in the rate of increase of coronavirus patients. However, strict restriction continued across the country as the government and health department raced against time to set up requisite health infrastructure to treat people infected with Covid-19 virus.

Delhi
- We have received 42,000 rapid kits, they will be used in containment zones starting from Sunday, says health minister.
- There are 1,767 Covid-19 positive cases in Delhi, out of which 67 were reported on Friday. There have been 42 deaths in the national capital, 911 patients are admitted at hospitals, of which 27 are in ICUs and 6 are on ventilators, says Delhi health minister Satyendar Jain.
- The parents of children studying in Delhi’s private schools heaved a sigh of relief on Friday with education minister Manish Sisodia ordering these institutions to charge only monthly, not quarterly, fees during the Covid-19 lockdown period.
- With the extension of the lockdown period by another three weeks, one more billing cycle of DJB is likely to get affected. Residents across Delhi are feeling anxious about not being able to pay their bills, some are even worried if their connections will be severed.
